 Professional Taekwondo Schools

This is a short summary of Taekwondo.
Taekwondo is a Korean form of martial arts which uses the foot, fist and warrior spirit.
It’s divided into 5 parts:

1. The essential moves of the game
These consist of punches, kicks and defensive moves which are managed by Taekwondo guidelines.

2. Poomsae
Poomsae is a combination of moves which foster players’ skills of self-defense, resilience and flexibility. It is divided into certified poomsae and free poomsae.

3. Kyorugi
Also referred to as fighting or sparring, this is when 2 players wear protective gear and come together to spar under the controlled rules and regulations of Taekwondo.

4. Kyukpa
This is the art of breaking either wood panels or bricks. It requires good aim and concentration.

5. Self-defense
This is knowing how to protect yourself and others.

Taekwondo is one of the greatest and most unique forms of martial arts because it isn’t broken up into different philosophies as other types of martial arts.
